Key West City Hall Murals

These murals were commissioned in 2019 for the newly renovated Key West City Hall through a national competition. They are each 15 feet wide by five feet high at one end. They are installed facing each other in the interior, ramped entry to City Hall. They evoke not only the celebratory spirit of Key West, but also its rich multicultural history. At various times Key West was a center for cigar manufacturing, shrimping, turtle fishing, and sponging. It is an amazing and vibrant community that is known for acceptance of all people, regardless of status. It is, finally, much more than a cruise-ship destination.

Here you see the two panels side by side. They were not designed to be displayed this way, but I present them here to give a view of the totality of the work done for this commission.
